Fredericton Picaroons Reds won the 2022 New Brunswick men’s provincial championship after a 3:1 win over CS Dieppe Sparx on Saturday 13 August. The one-match playoff was organised after both sides finished even on points in the New Brunswick Premier Soccer League. With the win, Fredericton Picaroons Reds qualified for Canada Soccer’s 2022 Toyota National Championships in Vaughan, Ontario.

This marks the second year in a row that Fredericton Picaroons Reds have won the men’s provincial title and the 13th time overall, all in the last 16 years. Only CS Dieppe Sparx, with three wins in a row from 2018 to 2020, have stopped Fredericton for provincial supremacy since 2007.

Alongside their 13 provincial titles, Fredericton Picaroons Reds have participated in the National Championships Challenge Trophy inter-provincial finals nine times (this year marks their 10th entry). They previously have finished as high as sixth place in both 2007 and 2019.

The Saturday Final was played at the Willie O’Ree Sports Complex in Fredericton.
