Overview

The Goalkeeper Diploma focuses on developing and refining the student coach’s capacity to meet the demands of coaching youth and senior amateur players in a development environment.  

 Priority Acceptance: Preference is given to applicants actively coaching in the environments listed above.

Prerequisites

To apply, you must meet all the following criteria:

• Licence: Valid Canadian C Licence (held for 6+ months) or approved International Equivalent.
• Role: coaching youth and senior amateur players in a development environment
• Clearance: Valid Criminal Record Check
• Safe Sport Roster: complete and up to date

Admissions Timeline

• Apply (Jan 1 – Mar 31): Applications close strictly at the end of the business day on March 31. Coaches will be expected to submit a 20 video of them coaching.
• Review (April – May): All applicants are screened during this period.
• Notification (By May 31): Acceptance or rejection notices are sent.
• Acceptance: Selected individuals have 30 days to accept their spot and pay the fee in full.

Course Details

Format & Attendance

• Online: A mix of self-paced (asynchronous) and collaborative (synchronous) learning.
• Attendance Policy: Coaches must attend 100% of all sessions to be licensed.

Fees ($3,150)

• Includes: Mentor support, content access, facility rentals, digital tools, and Canada Soccer branded Nike equipment (excluding footwear).
• Excludes: Travel, accommodations, meals and costs associated with filming practical sessions.

2026/27 Workshop Schedule

Coaches will be expected to attend two (2) synchronous sessions each month. Sessions will be held on Wednesdays and run from 5:00-7:00 pm EST. Synchronous sessions dates will be provided when coaches are offered a seat in the course.
