CSA Endorses ChampionsWorld

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association has today confirmed that it has given permission for the matches scheduled for Toronto’s SkyDome July 30 and 31, 2004.
“We are pleased to be able to sanction the activities of ChampionsWorld in Canada,” stated CSA Chief Operating Officer Kevan Pipe. “We look forward to both the Celtic vs. Roma match on July 31 and at the same time, we are also delighted that a second match between European giants Liverpool FC of England vs. FC Porto of Portugal on July 30 has also been added to the weekend agenda.”
Discussions between the two bodies have been ongoing since the beginning of the year and the results of these talks as well as the wonderful response of the community in Toronto for the Celtic vs. Roma match whereby the advance sale has been enormous has led to the placement of the second game at SkyDome.

ChampionsWorld has staged many major international matches in the past few years across the United States, and the July matches in Toronto represent the first games organized by Champions World in Canada.
“We are pleased with both these major events taking place in Canada, in Toronto in July as well as multiple other events surrounding these games. We also look forward to working together with ChampionsWorld as initial discussions have already taken place concerning future events in Canada in possible other locations in addition to SkyDome,” concluded Pipe.
“We are delighted to be able to bring the ChampionsWorld Series to Canada this year,” said ChampionsWorld CEO Charlie Stillitano. “ChampionsWorld has enjoyed an excellent relationship with The Canadian Soccer Association and with the SkyDome, and we look forward to a long-lasting relationship with the passionate soccer fans in Toronto and across Canada.”
