Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Women's Under-19 Team head coach Ian Bridge today released the list of 18 players invited on a 10-day trip to Houston, Texas for the adidas Cup.

The 3rd Annual adidas Cup features national teams from Canada, Finland, China, Japan, the United States and an All-star US Youth Soccer Olympic Development team. The teams will convene in Elizabeth K. Meyer Park from May 29-June 2.

Canada will play China on May 29, at 4:00 p.m. before facing Japan on May 31 at 6:00 p.m. Placing matches will occur on June 2 with the fifth place game scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m., third place game at 6:00 p.m. and the championship game kicking off at 8:00 p.m.

"I have been looking forward to this tournament since I saw our schedule for 2001, " said Bridge. "This will be the first opportunity for these players and this program to compete against other National teams. We have had several training camps this year, and have played club and University teams, but this tournament against top international opposition will be very challenging, but also very exciting."
