as described in 1927 after a match in New Zealand, “quiet, nonchalant manner... anticipation excellent... lithely built and active, he covers a great deal of ground with comparitively little effort”... as noted in 1927 in the Toronto Telegram, Tait was “reckoned one of the best custodians in Canada”... wrote Dave Turner of Tait in 1927, he “was the most-liked and most-talked about Canadian in New Zealand”...
