Tony Chursky... soccer family (son Alex)... he was deafened in one ear by the mumps... at age 15, he suffered a partial retinal detachment in his left eye... enjoyed sculpting, ballet... earned Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University... teacher at Charles Wright Academy Upper School...

as noted in a 1976 program, Chursky “possesses exceptional quickness and courage as a goalkeeper”... wrote Toronto’s Clive Toye in 1980, “Tony is a good lad and an exceptional clutch player”...

said Chursky in 1980 of his eye sight, "in soccer, I sometimes have trouble gauging the distance of balls when they are pushed through and are coming directly at me"...
