Nutrilite Active Start Soccer Fests - coming to a pitch near you!

Posted on 5 April 2011 in Active Start Soccer Fests

The Canadian Soccer Association is pleased to announce that the Nutrilite Active Start Soccer Fests program is back for another year! Building on a successful 2010 season, the Canadian Soccer Association and its national sponsors have once again partnered to deliver the largest grassroots soccer program in the country.

Active Start Soccer Fests, previously known as Mini Soccer Festivals, reach 60 to 6,000 participants and are generally held between March and October. On an annual basis, the Nutrilite Active Start Soccer Fests program impacts approximately 200,000 children and their parents, as well as 50,000 volunteers.

Nutrilite Active Start Soccer Fests is a financial grant based program. Clubs can apply online and, pending provincial approval, receive a festival package which they can use to showcase their festival. The package includes individual participation certificates and a wide array of promotional giveaways from the program's national sponsors. In addition, the program sponsors will visit select festivals where they will provide added value and increased giveaways, thus enriching the festival experience for all participants and festival attendees.

To find out more about the program and to apply to host a festival in your area visit www.CanadaSoccer.com/soccerfests. The deadline to apply to host a festival in 2011 is 1 May 2011.

Current 2011 Nutrilite Active Start Soccer Fests sponsors include: Nutrilite, BMO, Telus, Winners, Teck, State Farm, Sport Check/ Sports Experts, Oasis, Kumon and Nutella.
The term Active Start has been adopted from the first of seven stages within Wellness to World Cup – the Canadian Soccer Association's long-term player development program. The focus at this initial stage is to promote maximum player retention for both optimum wellness and sporting excellence.
