Canada wins its first FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match played in Edmonton, AB. Canada comes from behind to win 2:1 over Australia with goals by Mark Watson and Domenic Mobilio in the second half. Australia plays the last 75 minutes with 10 men. For Canada’s Watson, it is the first goal of his international career. For the first time ever, more than 20,000 fans are in attendance for a home FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match – with 27,775 fans in attendance for the important match at Commonwealth Stadium.

Canada wins 3:1 over Jamaica at the 1995 Copa Caribana in Toronto, ON. Tom Kouzmanis scores two goals in less than two minutes to reverse a Jamaica lead, thus becoming the first footballer to score two goals in his debut for Canada. Geoff Aunger then scores Canada’s third goal en route to the 3:1 victory.
