Canada comes from behind to win 3:2 over host China PR at the Yongchuan Cup Four-Nation Women’s Tournament. After You Jia scores two goals in the first half, Melissa Tancredi and Christine Sinclair (twice) score for Canada. Sinclair scores the winning-goal four minutes into time added. The win extends Canada’s record unbeaten streak to 11 matches (nine wins and two losses from 30 September 2010 to 21 January 2011).

Canada wins its group after a drawing of lots at the 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Canada lost its final group match 0:2 to Ecuador, conceding two goals in the final minutes of play to Alex Aguinaga (the second goal was scored on a penalty).
