Three days before his before his birthday, Kevin McKenna scores two goals in a 2:0 win over Haiti at the 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 18 January 2003
Atiba Hutchinson makes his debut for Canada in an away Men’s International Friendly match. Canada falls 0:4 to USA at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 18 January 2004
Canada wins 1:0 over Barbados in an away Men’s International Friendly match in Bridgetown. Carlo Corazzin scores his 11th (and final) goal for Canada. Nick Dasovic makes his 63rd (and final) appearance for Canada.

THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 21 January 2011
Canada comes from behind to win 3:2 over host China PR at the Yongchuan Cup Four-Nation Women’s Tournament. After You Jia scores two goals in the first half, Melissa Tancredi and Christine Sinclair (twice) score for Canada. Sinclair scores the winning-goal four minutes into time added. The win extends Canada’s record unbeaten streak to 11 matches (nine wins and two losses from 30 September 2010 to 21 January 2011).

THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 22 January 2002
Canada wins its group after a drawing of lots at the 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Canada lost its final group match 0:2 to Ecuador, conceding two goals in the final minutes of play to Alex Aguinaga (the second goal was scored on a penalty). Canada, Ecuador and Haiti finished dead even, saw the drawing of lots was required to rank the teams.
