Canada’s Jodi-Ann Robinson has made her 50th appearance for Canada’s national team. Robinson reached the milestone when she came on as a substitute in the 7 June 2011 Women’s International Friendly match against Hungary in Budapest.

Robinson, 22, is in her eighth season with Canada’s national team. She made her debut back on 21 April 2005 in a Women’s International Friendly against Germany in Osnabrück. She was just 16 years old, at the time the second youngest player to ever play for Canada. Robinson becomes the 22nd player to reach the milestone for Canada.

Robinson’s experience includes participation in one FIFA Women’s World Cup (not counting Germany 2011), one Women’s Olympic Football Tournament, and two CONCACAF women’s championships. She also participated in two FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cups and three CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship (including gold in 2004 and 2008). She was the Canadian U-20 Player of the Year in 2006.

At the club level, Robinson has played for Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the W-League. She helped her hometown club with the W-League playoff championship in 2006. At the college level, she joined the University of West Florida in 2010, scoring 20 goals in 21 matches in her first season.

Robinson made her 50th appearance on 7 June 2011 when she replaced Christina Julien in the 58th minute of the match. Incidentally, Robinson is Canada’s all-time leader when it comes to appearances as a substitute, setting the record last month on 15 May in a Women’s International Friendly against Switzerland in Roma, Italy. Robinson has made 35 appearances as a substitute, two more than previous record holder Andrea Neil. Also of note from the 7 June match in Budapest, teammate Brittany Timko made her 100th appearance for Canada on the same day.
