“Hassoun was very consistent throughout the whole year, even in difficult times,” said Impact sporting director Nick De Santis. “He always showed his qualities, leadership and experience. His personality adapted very well to the culture and the philosophy of the club. He was a very good team player and did everything for the best of the club.”

Camara played 22 matches in 2011 and earned North American Soccer League All-Star honours.

Other team award winners for the 2011 season were goalkeeper Evan Bush as Defensive Player of the Year, Sinisa Ubiparipovic and Ian Westlake as Newcomers of the Year, and Simon Gatti as Unsung Hero.

The 2011 season was Montréal’s final season in the North American Soccer League. The team will join Major League Soccer in 2012.
