Canada wrapped up its pre-FIFA Women’s World Cup international match schedule with a 2:0 victory on Tuesday 14 June. The victory improved Canada’s recent camp record to four wins and one draw, with matches played in Italy, Switzerland and Hungary over the past 30 days.

The victory improved Canada’s 2011 record to 10 wins, one draw and two losses. It marks the first time in Association history that Canada has posted 10 or more wins in back-to-back seasons (following its 13-3-2 campaign in 2010). Coach Carolina Morace, meanwhile, posted her 25th win for Canada since 2009 (25-5-8 in 38 matches).

Also of note on the day, fullback Rhian Wilkinson made her 100th appearance for Canada. She becomes the eighth player to reach the milestone, following in the footsteps of Brittany Timko who reached the milestone one week ago on 7 June.

Over the course of the most recent camp, Canada drew 1:1 with Switzerland on 15 May, won 2:1 over Switzerland on 18 May, won 2:0 over Netherlands on 28 May, won 1:0 over Hungary on 7 June, and won 2:0 over Korea DPR on 14 June.

Canada will continue to train in the coming week before arriving in Berlin, Germany on Sunday 19 June. The Canadian team will announce its 21-player roster on Thursday 16 June, just three days before its departure. Canada opens the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011 against the host Germany on Sunday 26 June at the Olympiastadion Berlin.
