Following the York9 FC v Cavalry FC Canadian Premier League match on Saturday 28 September 2019, Canada Soccer’s Disciplinary Committee announced that Cavalry Head Coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr. and midfielder Nikolas Ledgerwood of Cavalry FC and goalkeeper coach Camilo Benzi of York9 FC were charged with misconduct in accordance with the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Code.

Wheeldon Jr. and Ledgerwood have been fined undisclosed amounts after the Committee concluded that post-match comments made to the media amounted to Improper Conduct in that they questioned the integrity of the match official and/or brought the game into disrepute.

The Canada Soccer Disciplinary Committee has additionally suspended Benzi for three (3) matches following his irresponsible behaviour displayed as an Occupant of the Technical Area and his conduct after being dismissed from the technical area by the referee. Benzi has also been fined an undisclosed amount.
