Eighty-seven coaches receive Advanced Coach Education Program licences
Canada Soccer has announced 87 coaches have received licences as part of its Advanced Coach Education Program announcement to wrap Q4 2021. Thirteen coaches have received or renewed their Canada Soccer A Licence including Canada Soccer’s Futsal National Team Coach Kyt Selaidopoulos. Twenty-one coaches have received or renewed their Canada Soccer B Licence including Men’s National Team player Jamar Dixon. Among the 25 Canada Soccer Children’s Licence recipients are the technical leads for Manitoba and Saskatchewan Chris Lourenco and Rahim Mohamed. Member Association staff in Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan were also among the 26 recipients of the Canada Soccer Youth Licence.
The Canada Soccer A Licence is the top-level certification in the Performance Stream of Canada Soccer’s Coach Education Program for coaches working with senior players in a college/university, professional club or academy environment. The A Licence fulfills the coach education requirements of the Canada Soccer Professional Club Licence for the first-team Head Coach.
The Canada Soccer B Licence is the entry point to the Performance Stream and continues the facilitation of learning opportunities so that coaches may work effectively with senior players in the Performance Stream pathway and prepares them to progress to the Canada Soccer A Licence.
The Canada Soccer Children’s Licence is an A Licence equivalent for coaches working with children between the ages of 5-12. The Licence aims to provide coaches with the tools they need to create the best development environments for as many players as possible at their club/academy.
The Canada Soccer Youth Licence provides coaches with theoretical and practical components focusing on holistic, effective coaching of youth players between the ages of 13-18 including designing, delivering and reflecting on all aspects of on and off field activities.
Canada Soccer Advanced Coach Education Program Licences are valid for a three-year term.
