Canada eliminates Puerto Rico

Canada eliminated Puerto Rico from the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Qualifiers™ on Tuesday night with a 0:0 draw at BMO Field. Canada remains in first place of Group D of CONCACAF Round 2 following Match Day 4 on 11 October. Puerto Rico is the second team eliminated from the four-team group, leaving just Canada and St. Kitts and Nevis alive and kicking.

Canada needs but a single point from its last two matches to advance to CONCACAF Round 3 of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Qualifiers™. Canada holds a four-point lead over second-place St. Kitts and Nevis, who drew 1:1 with St. Lucia on Tuesday night.



Canada will now break until the final two matches are played in November. Canada will face St. Kitts and Nevis on 11 November in Basseterre and 15 November in Toronto.
