Canada took part in its second training session in Sunrise, FL on 8 November as part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup™ Qualifiers against St. Kitts and Nevis.

Canada will travel to the Caribbean to take on St. Kitts and Nevis in Basseterre, SKN on 11 November (20.00 local kick off – 19.00 ET / 16.00 PY) before heading back to Toronto for the return fixture on 15 November (19.00 local kick off) at BMO Field.

Canada needs to take one point from its final two matches in Group D of CONCACAF Round 2 of FIFA World Cup™ qualifying to progress to the next round.

“We know what we have to do,” said Head Coach Stephen Hart after Tuesday morning’s session. “We have to remain relaxed and just take care of business against St. Kitts and Nevis.”

For veteran midfielder Julian De Guzman the upcoming matches also represent an opportunity to improve on a frustrating 0:0 draw at home against Puerto Rico on 11 October.

“The guys realise the importance of getting at least one point,” said De Guzman. “But I also think we have something to prove after not scoring a goal in the last match at home. I think the guys are hungry now to get some goals and play some better football.”

Only Will Johnson was absent from Canada’s 18-man roster for the session, with the Real Salt Lake midfielder taking some time to recover after his club took part in the MLS Western Conference Championship match on Sunday.

Canada will travel to Basseterre, SKN on 9 November ahead of the match on 11 November.
