Canada arrived in San Pedro Sula, Honduras tonight in anticipation of this Saturday’s all-important FIFA World Cup™ Qualifiers match. Canada is looking to pick up three points on Honduras, who currently sits in second place in CONCACAF Group 2. The match kicks off at 19.30 MT and will be broadcast live on Sportsnet Pacific and Sportsnet West (18.30 PT / 21.30 ET).



Canada spent four days training in Sunrise, FL. Coach Dale Mitchell says that all 18 players are healthy after Thursday’s morning session. The team flew Thursday evening from Miami to San Pedro Sula.

Canada is currently taking part in CONCACAF Stage III of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ Qualifiers. After three matches, Canada is in third place in Group 2 with one point, trailing Honduras (six points) and Mexico (nine points). Canada needs a big win against Honduras to gain ground in the standings. Only the top-two teams will advance after six matches. In other CONCACAF action, the United States leads Group 1 ahead of Guatemala, Trinidad & Tobago and Cuba while Costa Rica leads Group 3 ahead of El Salvador, Haiti and Suriname.
