Colombia hits the crossbar.
Canada came from behind to draw 1:1 with Colombia in the opening match of the Copa América IFCPF in Sangolquí, Quito, ECU. Colombia opened the scoring midway through the first half on a long free kick before Duncan McDonald equalised on a header from close range late in the half.
Canada had a few more chances in the second half, but were unable to connect for a winner. The Saturday 27 October match was Canada's first of three matches in four days, with a quick turnaround to their second match on Sunday afternoon against Chile.
Canada featured three teenagers amongst their seven starters and also featured two 20-year old players in the game.

Canada's starting lineup featured Damien Wojtiw in goal, Ryan Watson and Dustin Hodgson at fullback, Duncan McDonald, captain Samuel Charron, and Diego Gilbert at midfield, and Gaerrisen Freeland up front. In the second half, coach Drew Ferguson replaced Watson and Hodgson with Raji Kamoun and Nicholas Heffernan (31').
