Posted on 30 July 2010 in ↳ Men's EXCEL U-18 to U-20

Canada's men's U-20 team has announced its roster for the upcoming camp and competition in Valencia, Spain. Coach Valerio Gazzola has named 18 players for the competition which runs 12-20 August. Canada will play four matches against club and international opponents.

The eight-team competition features two four-team groups. Canada (U-20), Guinea (U-20), Valencia CF and Santos CF are in the first group while Villarreal CF, Etoile Lusilanos, Uzbekistan (U-20) and Ecuador are in the second group. Canada faces Santos FC on 13 August, Valencia CF on 15 August and Guinea U-20 on 17 August. The classification match will be played on 20 August.

"This is our second camp, so we wanted to see some different players," said coach Gazzola. "We will be playing quality teams, so our staff will be able to assess our players as we increase our player pool. We need to continue to put new players in international competition."

Canada is currently preparing for next year's 2011 CONCACAF Men's Under-20 Championship. The confederation championship serves as the qualification route for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
