Netherlands improved its third-place ranking from a year ago to finish second in the 2011 competition. In the other classification matches, France won 3:0 over Scotland in the match for third place, England won 2:0 over Korea Republic in the match for fifth place, Mexico won 5:0 over New Zealand in the match for 7th place, Italy won 2:0 over Russia in the match for 9th place, and Switzerland won 2:1 over Northern Ireland in the match for 11th place.

In the other major March women's international football tournament that concluded today, USA won 4:2 over Iceland in the Algarve Women's Cup final. Iceland had a 2-1 lead midway through the first half before USA came back to score late in the first half and then twice more in the second half. Including USA, that 12-team Algarve Women's Cup featured four teams from the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup Germany 2011.

Canada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, is currently preparing for the FIFA Women's World Cup Germany 2011.
