Canada opened the 2015 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifiers‎ against USA, but fell 1:3 in the first of the three group matches. The team will have a day to recover before facing Panama on 3 October (14.30 ET / 11.30 PT).

USA leads the group with three points after the opening day, while Cuba and Panama are even with a single point each after a 1:1 draw. Both matches were played at Sporting Park in Kansas.

Canada needs to finish among the top two teams in the group against USA, Panama, and Cuba. Despite the loss, the team still has 180 minutes to play to capture points for a spot in the semi-final phase.

"We have to do much of the same in the next game: to play well on attack, to take advantage of centering pieces, and to defend correctly," said coach Benito Floro. "It is important to believe in our system, because in reality the team played well and controlled many parts of the game, but just needed to score more goals."
