Alberta leads the way at the U-15 Cup in Edmonton

Alberta’s St. Albert Impact will meet Calgary Foothills FC in the Boys’ U-15 Cup Gold Medal Match on Teck Finals Day at the 2019 Toyota National Championships. Foothills will also be represented in the Girls’ U-15 Cup Gold Medal Matches against Quebec’s AS Brossard.

Manitoba’s Winnipeg Bonivital SC faces Quebec’s St. Laurent in the Bronze Medal Match on the Boys’ side of the draw with BC’s Surrey United facing New Brunswick’s CS Dieppe in the Girls’ Bronze Medal match.

Boys' U-15 Cup

Semi-Final Round

Calgary Foothills FC (AB) 1:0 (MB) Winnipeg Bonivital SC

Maxwell Piepgrass’s (59’) goal midway through the second half gave Calgary Foothills the second Gold Medal Match placement on the day as Alberta defeated Winnipeg Bonivital 1:0. Ricardo Zarate got the shutout for Alberta. Bonivital will play for bronze on Teck Finals Day.

CS St-Laurent (QC) 1:1 (5:6 PKs) (AB) St. Albert Impact

Alberta’s St. Albert Impact made it an all-Alberta final defeating Quebec in penalty kicks. Franck Loic Goufo Zoumess’si (2’) early goal gave Quebec the halftime lead. Alberta were able to send it to penalty kicks when Felix Mutuyemungu (54’) scored midway through the second half to send it to penalty kicks.

5-8 Placement Round

Vancouver Island Wave (BC) 1:0 (NL) Feildians AA St. John’s

Emile Abele’s (4’) goal early in the first half was enough to put British Columbia in the Fifth Place Match on Teck Finals Day. Newfoundland & Labrador will place for seventh place.

Milton Magic (ON) 5:0 (PE) PEI FC

Ontario’s Milton Magic won their opening placement match, after losing in Saturday’s Quarter-Final, 5:0 over Prince Edward Island. Marcus Riviere (12’), James Arango (17’), Marek Karauda (39’), Noah Bickford (48’), and Christian Alfieri (70’) scored and Dante Carraro got the shutout for Milton who will play for fifth place on Teck Finals Day.

Consolation Round

Halifax County United SC (NS) 1:2 (NB) Moncton Codiac SC

Hunter Delahunt (5’) and Daniel Aviv (59’) scored for Nova Scotia. Ben Thompson (51’) had the goal for New Brunswick.

Saskatoon Lakewood Deportivo (SK) 5:0 (NT) Yellowknife Bay SC

Sommy Okwosha (49’, 51’), Carter Neisz (2’), Braden Painchaud (28’), and Joshua Malin (56’) scored and Geoffrey Mendoza had the clean sheet for Saskatchewan who sit atop the consolation standings.

Girls’ U-15 Cup

Semi-Final Round

CS Dieppe (NB) 0:0 (1:4 on PKs) (QC) AS Brossard

Quebec’s AS Brossard earned their place in the Gold Medal Match on Teck Finals Day defeating New Brunswick’s CS Dieppe. Élyse Beaudry, Maude Savaria, Vanessa Manoil, and Émilie Grondines all hit their kicks from the spot in the victory for Quebec. Dieppe will now play in the Bronze Medal Match.

Surrey United SC (BC)1:2 (AB) Calgary Foothills

Alberta’s Calgary Foothills came back from 1:0 down after Ishana Sandhu (6’) scored early in the first half for Surrey United. BC’s lead wouldn’t last for long, though, as Kiera Mcculloch (14’) had Foothills even at the break. Isabelle Andrews (67’) late second half winner put Calgary Foothills in the Gold Medal Match on Teck Finals Day. Surrey will play for bronze.

5-8 Placement Round

Edmonton Mill Woods Selects FC (AB) 5:1 (NL) Conception Bay South

Alout Agar (35’+2, 68’) had two goals for Edmonton Mill Woods Selects, Danielle Rooker (24’), Hailey Mishio (31’), and Senna Pajo (61’) had the other goals for Alberta. Lauren Rowe (37’) scored for Newfoundland & Labrador.

Oshawa Kicks (ON) 2:0 (MB) Winnipeg Bonivital SC

Ontario will play in the Fifth Place Match on Teck Finals Day after defeating Manitoba 2:0. Kate Bemrose (25’) and Katharine Stewart (35’) scored for Oshawa Kicks. Greven Rodrigues had the shutout.

Consolation Round

PEI FC (PE) 4:1 (NT) Yellowknife Bay SC

Gracie McQuaid (35’), Alice Dorsey (58’, 61’), and Kate Campbell (66’) scored for PEI FC. Gillian Furniss (70’) scored for Yellowknife Bay SC.

FC Regina Bluestars (SK) 0:1 (NS) Suburban FC

Misha Fleet (70’) scored at the death to give Suburban FC the Consolation Round victory. Nova Scotia’s Emily Maclean had the shutout.
