Canada has announced it will participate at this year's 2009 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The 2009 championship, which serves as the qualification tournament to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup UAE 2009, runs 29 April through 3 May.

Brazil beat Italy 5-3 in the Marseille 2008 final to claim their third successive FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup crown. Bruno and Sidney scored doubles apiece, and Andre was also on target for the SeleÃ§Ã£o as they provided an enthralling climax to a memorable tournament on Prado beach.
Brazil kicked off the game as the favourites, but it was Italy who had the game's first opening. Receiving the ball with his back to goal, Massimiliano Esposito flicked it up and produced an overhead-kick, which dropped to safety off the crossbar.

The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup got underway today in Rio de Janeiro with four opening-day matches. Russia tied Mé xico for a 2:2 draw, Brasil won 11:2 over the Solomon Islands, Iran tied Portugal for a 3:3 draw, and Spain (España) doubled the United States 8:4. M éxico and Portugal were both winners in the penalty shootout.
On Saturday, Italia plays Uruguay, Japan plays Senegal, Nigeria plays Argentina, and the United Arab Emirates play France.

In front of thousands of enthusiastic Brazilian fans, Canada's beach soccer team faced an experienced and talented Brazil earlier today in the Quarter Finals of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil ended Canada's impressive run for the title with a 12:1 victory over the Canucks.
Canada has surpassed expectations and answered all critics during this tournament, especially when the red and white defeated European champions, Spain on Tuesday to move on to today's Quarter Final match against Brazil. More

Ottawa, Ontario - Canada's Men's National Beach Soccer team coached by Ross Ongaro will travel today to take part in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from November 2-12, 2006.
Ongaro's 12-player roster is well represented by the Edmonton area with nine players. Greg Bonar and Paul Dhaliwal are the two goalkeepers, Kurt Bosch and Angelo Sestito are in defence, and in the midfield are Ian Diaz, Chris Lemire and Jason Miniaci. Up front are forwards Eric Munoz and Sipho Sibiya. More

Canada advances to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006
Canada's Men's National Beach Soccer team scored an historic 6:4 victory against host Costa Rica on Saturday to qualify for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006.
After heavy rains hit the venue of Punta Leona, Costa Rica over night Friday, making the pitch unplayable, Saturday's encounters at the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship were moved to Playa Jaco, Costa Rica.
Two goals by Canadian beach star Kyriakos Selaidopoulos and four more from Ian Carlos Diaz, Damir Deco Jesic, Sipho Sibiya and Kyle Yamada helped Canada to a 6:4 victory over the mighty favorite Costa Rican Ticos. More

Canada's Men's Beach Soccer Team competes to earn a birth to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006
Canada's Men's Beach Soccer Team is set to compete in the inaugural CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship beginning tomorrow against the United States in Puntarenas, Costa Rica.
The Championship consists of five teams Canada, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico and the United States. The Championship will be played in a round-robin format with doubleheader encounters on each of the five match dates. The Champion and runner-up from the final round standings will earn a spot to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from November 1st -12th 2006.
Following their opening match against USA, the Canadians will continue on Thursday against Mexico before they meet Jamaica on Friday. Canada will close their games of the competition on Saturday against the competition host Costa Rica. More

CONCACAF announced today that the inaugural Beach Soccer Championship (FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006 Qualifier Costa Rica) will take place at Punta Leona in Puntarenas, Costa Rica from 13-17 September.
The CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship, that will also qualify two CONCACAF teams to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006 taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 2-12 November, consists of five teams (Canada, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico and USA).
The CONCACAF tournament will be played in round-robin format with doubleheader encounters on each of the five match dates. The champion and runner-up from the final round standings will progress to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006. More

Ottawa, Ontario Canada's Beach Soccer Team head coach, Ross Ongaro, now knows where the 2006 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Qualifying Tournament will be held.
CONCACAF has announced that the Qualifying Tournament for the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will take place in September 2006 in South Beach, Miami, Florida. Exact dates of the fixures will be released by CONCACAF in the coming weeks.
CONCACAF will send two representatives to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the 2006 FIFA Beach World Cup, scheduled for November 2-12, 2006. More

Vienna, Austria Officials from CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American, and Caribbean Association Football) have announced that the 2006 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Tournament has been postponed until September 2006 and will be played in the CONCACAF Region by the same six (6) National Associations (Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico, and USA).
The CONCACAF Tournament was originally scheduled to be a six-team round-robin event that would run from March 5-12, 2006 in Macaé, Brazil 180km north of Rio de Janeiro. More

Ottawa, Ontario Canada's Beach Soccer Head Coach, Ross Ongaro, has released his 12-man roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Beach Soccer Qualifying Tournament, a six-team round-robin event that will run from March 5-12, 2006 in Macaé, Brazil 180km north of Rio de Janeiro.
Canada will arrive in Brazil on March 1 and will spend the first three days preparing for its first match against the Cayman Islands on March 5.

Ottawa, Ontario The Canadian Soccer Association has named Edmonton's Ross Ongaro as Canada's Beach Soccer Head Coach. Ongaro, currently Canada's Futsal Head Coach, was appointed by the CSA Technical Director, Richard Bate, during the weekend Board of Director's meeting in Ottawa in early December.
