Canada Draws Brazil, Australia and Czech Republic

Ottawa, Ontario – Canada's Men's Youth (Under-20) Team were drawn into Group C and will face Brazil, Australia and the Czech Republic in the opening round at the FIFA World Youth Championship in the United Arab Emirates from March 25-April 16.

The Canadians will play their first game against Brazil on March 26 before facing Australia on March 29. Canada's third game of the first round will be against the Czech Republic on April 1. All games in Group C will be played in Sharjah.

29 Players Selected for a Combined Training Camp in Mexico

Ottawa, Ontario – Olympic (U-23) Head Coach Bruce Twamley and Youth (U-20) Head Coach Dale Mitchell will hold a combined training camp in Guadalajara, Mexico from January 7-21. Canada is scheduled to play three exhibition games during the camp before returning on January 21.

The Youth team will be preparing for the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship to be held this March in the United Arab Emirates. The Youth team secured their spot after a 3-2 victory over the United States in Charleston, S.C. in November. More

Twamley Names 18 Players for Training Camp and Friendlies in Miami

Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Men's Olympic Team Head Coach Bruce Twamley today announced a roster of 18 players who will take part in a training camp from December 15-22 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., USA. The Canadians will also play two friendlies against their US counterparts on December 19th and 21st.

The roster includes six players who played for the U-20 Team that qualified in November for the FIFA World Youth Championship to be held in the United Arab Emirates in 2003: Andres Arango, Gordon Chin, Atiba Hutchinson, Winston Marshall, and Sita-Taty Matondo, and Kevin Harmse. The Canadians won their group when they defeated the Americans 3-2. More

Mitchell Names 18 Players for Qualification Tournament in Charleston

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Men's Youth Under-20 Team will begin their attempts to qualify for their second consecutive FIFA World Youth Championships when they travel to Charleston, South Carolina for the CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament from November 13-17.

Canada will play El Salvador on Wednesday, November 13 and Haiti on Friday, November 15th, before concluding the tournament against the host nation, USA on November 17. More

Ottawa, Ontario - Canadian Junior (Under-17) National Team head coach Stephen Hart has selected 18 players from the Junior Development Team (1986s and 1987s) for a training camp and international tournament in Bermuda from July 17-28. The Canadians will play games against Bermuda, Jamaica and Barbados during the tournament.

The Canadians will train in Toronto on July 17 and 18 before flying to Bermuda on the 19th. More

Olympic Team to Play Honduras

The squad first arrives in Miami, Florida on May 18 to train and play two exhibition matches before heading to Honduras on May 28 where they will participate in an international friendly against the Honduran Under-23 Team on May 30.

Canada To Host Qualifying Tournament

Canada was awarded one of two CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament for the FIFA Under-17 World Championship at the CONCACAF Congress over the weekend. The tournament will take place in Canada (at a site to be determined) in late March, 2003 with the other being held in Guatemala. Each tournament will consist of four teams with three CONCACAF berths available at the FIFA Under-17 World Championship, which will be held in Finland, August 13-30, 2003.

Ottawa, Ontario - Canada's Men's Junior (U-17) Team head coach Stephen Hart has selected 18 players (Under-16s born in 1986 and 1987) for a 13-day training camp in Florida and Central America. The Canadians will train for three days in Ft. Lauderdale before travelling to El Salvador on April 3.
