Canada ranked fifth in CONCACAF
Canada's men's national team remains the fifth-ranked team amongst all CONCACAF nations on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. Canada has 508 points and is ranked 62ndth on the world ranking. Canada trails Mexico, USA, Honduras and Costa Rica within its own confederation.
The FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings looks at each country’s international results from the last four years. The ranking takes into account the result, the importance of the match, the strength of the opponent, the regional strength, the time period, and the number of matches per year. Amongst the CONCACAF Top 10, Mexico slipped ahead of USA for the top spot in the confederation. Mexico ranks 15th overall on the world ranking. The only other movement was Jamaica slipping ahead of Panama into 7th on the confederation list. As for the overall world ranking, Spain, Brazil, Netherlands and Italy remain the top four nations in the world. Rounding out the top-10 are Germany, Portugal, France, England, Argentina and Greece.
