Canada's men's U-23 (Olympic) team has completed its first camp of the 2010 season under head coach Tony Fonseca. The 22 players, born in 1989 or later, trained in Sunrise, FL from 11-19 January. The camp provided coach Fonseca and his staff the first opportunity to begin preparations ahead of the 2012 Men's Olympic Football Tournament in London.

"It was a great opportunity to bring this group together,” said head coach Fonseca. “I see a lot of potential for this group as we continue to build toward the 2012 Men's Olympic Football Tournament. I was particularly impressed with the work ethic, commitment and discipline showed throughout the camp." More

Canada’s men’s U-23 (Olympic) team will gather next week for its first official camp under national coach Tony Fonseca. The 21 players, all born 1989 or later, will take part in a weeklong camp from the 11-18 January at the Holiday Inn Sunrise in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The camp will help coach Fonseca and his staff to begin preparations for the 2012 Men’s Olympic Football Tournament in London.

"I am very excited to get this group together for the first time," said coach Fonseca. "It will be a great opportunity to work with these players as we begin preparations for the next Men’s Olympic Football Tournament."

Canada's men's U-23 (Olympic) team has officially opened its camp in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The team arrived Monday and began training Tuesday with two sessions under the watchful eye of head coach Tony Fonseca.

Canada's Will Johnson has been named to the All-Tournament for the CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualification Tournament. Johnson was one of three forwards named to the Best XI. He was the lone Canadian on the 18-man all-star team (which included 11 starters and seven honourable mentions).

Canada's men's U-23 team enjoyed their last day of training in Nashville, TN today. The team took it easier near the end of three weeks in the United States, first in Oxnard and Carson, CA and now in Nashville. Canada will face Guatemala in the match for third place tomorrow at LP Field.

Canada will face a familiar foe tonight in the CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualification Tournament. The match will be anything but friendly as both sides are expected to lay it all on the line for the win. After all, the prize after 90+ minutes is nothing less than a trip to Beijing and the 2008 Men's Olympic Football Tournament.

The Canada-United States match kicks off at 20.00 CT at the LP Field in Nashville, TN. Canada's men's U-23 team lost their semi-final 0:3 to the United States tonight, thus ending their Olympic dreams for the 2008 year. Canada needed a victory in the CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualification Tournament semi-final to advance.

Both the United States and Honduras, meanwhile, have qualified for the 2008 Men's Olympic Football Tournament in Beijing, China. Honduras won their spot earlier in the evening after winning 6-5 on penalties over Guatemala. More

There will be plane tickets booked for Beijing if the Canadian men's U-23 team can knock off the United States in the all-important semi-final of the CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualification Tournament. The Thursday night winner not only secures a spot in the 23 March CONCACAF final (against the winner of the Guatemala-Honduras match), but the winner also qualifies for the 2008 Men's Olympic Football Tournament in China.

"We've been a team all the way through," says coach Nick Dasovic. "We've been able to get everyone working together."
