William George Thomson... he was 24 years old when he moved to Toronto in 1967... appointed head of the Physical Education Department at Upper Canada College in 1972... as noted in his obituary, his “charm, wry sense of humour and infectious smile will be sadly missed. His passion, patience and loyalty will stand as examples of the best kind of husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend”...

served as Canadian Soccer Association’s Technical Director (1974-85) and Director of Coaching... served as a manager with Canada’s national teams... served as the assistant coach for Canadian universities at the 1982 Summer Universiade in Mexico (soccer)... worked for the Coaching Association of Canada (1985-90)... served as head coach of the Ottawa Pioneers... served as Director of the National Coaching Institute at the University of Victoria (1990-2008)...
