Tamas Fried... he moved to Canada in 1957, first living in North Sydney, NS before moving to Toronto a year later... he was 81 years old when he passed away in Toronto, ON on 21 December 2006... obtained certification in sport medicine at the Sport Institute of Budapest... in 2000, was part of the inaugural class honoured by The Soccer Hall of Fame in Canada (one of 11 builders)...

served as a team doctor with Hungary’s national team... served as a doctor in Canada Soccer’s men’s national, men’s Olympic and men’s national youth programs... served as Chairman of Canada Soccer’s Medical Committee... served on Canada’s staff at the 1974 CONCACAF Youth Tournament in Canada... served on Canada’s staff at the 1978 CONCACAF Men’s Youth Championship (Canada qualified for Japan 1979)... served on the National Organising Committee (Services) for the FIFA U-16 World Tournament Canada 1987 (FIFA U-17 World Cup)... served on Canada’s staff at the FIFA U-16 World Tournament Canada 1987 (FIFA U-17 World Cup)... served on Canada’s staff at the FIFA Futsal World Cup Netherlands 1989... served on Canada’s staff during FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in 1992... served as head of delegation with Canada’s national youth team in 1990 (with coach Bert Goldberger)...
