With the clock ticking down to this summer’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014, the race is very much on for those players looking to crack the lineup heading into the tournament.
With the tournament the goal on the horizon, Head Coach Andrew Olivieri is assembling 20-players in Portland, OR, who are hoping to be in the picture when the final roster decisions are made prior to the tournament in August.
The camp goes from 1-11 April in the Rose City.
Included in the group is defender Rebecca Quinn, who was a late inclusion with Canada’s Women’s National Team in March’s Cyprus Cup and performed admirably when she saw minutes. She is one of several members of this squad that already has experience with the Women’s National Team.
This will be the second camp this year for players in the U-18/U-20 age group after one in February in Burnaby. The preparations will culminate in Toronto on 5 August when Canada’s Women’s U-20 Team will take to the field to kick off their FIFA U-20 World Cup campaign against Ghana.
