With the world’s best young women’s players soon to arrive in Canada, those hoping to crack Canada’s Women’s U-20 Team for the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada have their first chance to impress for the year.

“We are really pleased with the progress of the program as a whole over 2013 as we have been able to provide a lot of quality time in our environment to our most promising players,” said Head Coach of Canada’s Women’s U-20 Team Andrew Olivieri. “We have had about a dozen players bridge multiple environments across age groups and consider this a positive sign as the players showing the most talent are receiving accelerated development.”

Eighteen players will assemble in Burnaby, BC where they will train from 16-27 February for their first camp of 2014 as Head Coach Andrew Olivieri begins the all-important preparations in advance of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014.

“This camp will focus on progressing the core of the team to another level while immersing a couple new players into the culture as we move closer to our final preparations for Canada 2014.”

The camp concludes just two days before the draw for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2014 takes place in Montreal on 1 March.

Canada opens competition on 5 August, in Toronto, ON. They’ll remain in Toronto for their second game on 8 August before heading to the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, QC to round out the group stage on 12 August.
