Canada's Para Soccer Team prepares for important year

Posted on 23 March 2014 in Para Soccer

Canada’s Men’s Para Soccer Team has a big year ahead of them and they got 2014 underway with their first camp of the year at the OSA Soccer Centre in Vaughan, ON.

Head Coach Drew Ferguson assembled a mix of senior players, some players that haven’t been seen in a while and some new players hoping to see more time in the future. As the camp was in the greater Toronto area, it was made up mostly of Eastern players with a few senior players from the West coast.

Ferguson also had the opportunity to promote and spread awareness of the Canadian Para Soccer program when he got to speak to 400 coaches at the OSA Coaching Conference over the weekend.

A second camp will be held on the West coast in Victoria, BC next month for Western-based players. It’s all in preparation of the 2014 American Championships that will be held in Toronto in September.
