Canada m17 arrives in Panama

Posted on 22 November 2012 in Men's U-17 Team

After a successful training camp in Sunrise, FL - Canada's men's U-17 team travelled to Panama City on 21 November ahead of a pair of friendlies against hosts Panama.

The young Canadians will take on their Panamanian peers on 23 and 25 November at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Ciudad Panama. On Sunday 18 November, Canada fell 1:2 to USA at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

"The camp has gone very well in Florida," said Canadian U-17 coach Sean Fleming. "I think it is now very important that we get to go into Panama. For the kids to experience Panama, to play a quality side (in Panama), and to know they have been to Panama before the CONCACAF championship will help them."

This marks coach Sean Fleming's third project of the 2012 season. The team is preparing for next year's CONCACAF Men's Under-17 Championship which runs 6-19 April 2013. Four CONCACAF teams will qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup UAE 2013 which runs 17 October to 8 November.
